I get all twitchy when I have to wait. It’s not so much due to impatience with the person or place causing the wait time but because I can’t stand to sit and not be doing something. I can actually be quite content waiting when I’ve brought a good book with me. But it’s inevitable that when I end up with a wait, I’ve forgotten a book. (Yet when I bring one, it seems to speed things up. Hmm.) I don’t have a smart phone, so I can’t even resort to enjoying a good Pinterest binge.
I love that there are some places that let you check the current wait time online so that you’re able to assess whether you can fit in that errand and be prepared for how long it may take. It’s a nice time maximizer and doesn’t require me to call. (Ack, I hate the phone!) I can even find out the current average wait at the ER closest to our house to decide whether or not I really have time to get that broken bone set. (I kid!)
Here are a few places where I can get an idea of wait times. I’ve linked them for my local readers.
The equivalent establishments in your city may offer the same, and you may even have others that I don’t. Just google [name of city] wait time and see what you find.
